It's tradition to burn a tie on the sixth month mark...

Haha no more walking on ice ponds or lakes!

Hi! I had a pretty good week! Saturday we had a baptism for this girl who just turned 8 and Elder Butler and I were asked to talk about the plan of salvation to everyone while her and her dad were getting changed back into their normal clothes. We also were witnesses and we also got to be in the circle as the dad was confirming her a member of the Church so that was cool! I never got to do that before! Saturday night I called one of the seniors from the senior center and asked if we could visit her at her house and she said yes! So we will see if she is interested in taking the discussions as she is not a member.  We are meeting with her Tuesday afternoon! The lessons are going great!  The baptism one we kind of struggled because we weren't use to teaching the plan of salvation to everyone but we got the point across even though it was different.

The area has picked up a lot and I mean a lot the first three months I was here when I was with Elder Duda felt like I had served my full two years it just went by really slow.  But now that it has picked up it's already almost the end of the first week of this transfer!  My new companion is a great guy! I feel like we really mesh together when we teach so that is nice! I have yet to not like one of my companions as so far I have gotten along with all of them!

So today we aren't sure but we are planning on hanging out with other Elders and tomorrow we are helping the other Elders with a move at ten in the morning and then going to an appointment at 1pm. Wednesday we are going to talk to Aaron at the rec center and see what other service that there is that needs to be done and then a member in our ward is picking us up to meet Sierra B.  Her parents are going to let her get baptized for her 16th birthday and we are going to ask her is she would like the lessons again. Thursday we are helping our Bishop's neighbors move, then after that we have Zone meeting and then dinner. Friday we are helping another member in the ward move, then we have dinner.  Then Saturday we have another baptism for a girl who turned 8 at 10 am and then we are going to try to visit with the Jarvis's Saturday night after dinner.

The members we live with their son wants to do the Buffalo Wild Wings challenge with me.  Buffalo Wild Wings have this challenge where you get 12 wings with the hottest sauce on them and you have to eat them in 6 minutes if you complete it you get half off on the wings and a free t-shirt saying you completed the blazin challenge. It's suppose to be hard and it will be interesting so we will probably try this next week haha I'm excited!

I still have been running 7 miles I have been doing it every other day though  then I lift weights on the days I don't run! I have lost 10 pounds since I have been in this area I weigh 155!

Hope you guys had a better week. I love you mom! Nate told me that you still are applying for jobs sorry to hear that. I have been praying for you and tomorrow I will fast for you until dinner hope you find some luck landing another job love you mom!

The hottest pepper is the Carolina Reaper...trust me it is hot!

So these pictures were taken at the senior center haha the bottom picture is Elder Blue and Elder Duda and I getting are hands pampered it felt so nice! This week was crazy and came to find out that I will be staying here in Longmont for one more transfer! My companion is leaving and going to Rawlins where he will be living in the same apartment as my old companion! I told everybody that my old companion was sent to Rawlins as well and they just call me the Rawlins curse haha! Elder Duda, my companion, is going to be Elder Blackburn's companion who is Weston Barlows cousin! I will be here for another 6 weeks and my new companion is going to be Elder Butler!

Yesterday, Elder Blue, who is in my district, challenged me and a couple other elders in the district to try the Hottest pepper in the world! The name of the pepper is called the Carolina Reaper. So I of course accepted Elder Blues challenge!  This pepper is at a members house, he grows them so it was fresh! The hottest pepper you can buy is Ghost Pepper but this was so bad it had me in tears! It was awful and not only did I eat it once but Elder Blue challenged everybody to try it again and we did it again! It was so hot! My throat and mouth were on fire for 15 to 20 minutes its funny now and I can say I tried the hottest pepper in the world haha never again! Elder Blue took a video but yeah didn't get a picture!

I'm sorry to hear about Grandpa I hope he will be okay seems like it's been rough for him lately! Poor Kate she is so skinny I hope she can recover safely! I'm sorry mom that your losing your job and hope that you can find a job quick! Heavenly Father does have a plan for us it might not work out the way we want but he has a plan for all of us. I still struggle out here and it hasn't been easy but I know that Heavenly Father will be there for me when I need him most! I try to say my prayers every morning and night sometimes I forget but I try and he will help you out too we just need to turn to him as we are struggling!

I hope you got my card and hope all is well! Love you!

Let's go on the ice everyone shall we?! Just ignore the sign...and the pond!

Good morning! My week was alright but it was a pretty slow week. We went to a funeral on Thursday and we were there from 11:30 to about 4:30pm and then we went to dinner! Friday we had district meeting that went okay! Hunter is working on stuff still with the Bishop and once that is fixed she can get baptized! So that is real good news! Monday went good we taught Kendra the second lesson at the old bishop’s house again and we saw him at the funeral on Thursday and he told us that he will let us know when we will be able to teach her again at their house. So the lessons have been going great for Kendra!

Yesterday was horrible my companion and I were both sick! So we didn't go to Church which sucked because we invited Kendra to Church and we didn't know if she showed up or not. We only have one dinner this week because we weren't able to pass around our dinner calendar for this week. I bought new bread last week and I ate some yesterday and it had mold on it so that sucked as I ended up throwing that away! My companion and I feel so much better now though!

We find out if we get transferred or not this Saturday night and transfer day is on Tuesday morning!  If I do end up staying in this area then I want to train! I mean there is literally nothing to do in this area which is why I want to leave.  No one needs help its horrible. ha-ha My whole district is struggling with finding work to do and all of us want to be transferred out of here. The weather has been in the 40s and 50s so it's been pretty nice! Yes it's almost been six months since I've been on my mission.  Next week I will be at my six month mark. Crazy!

I will try to do better at sending pics.  Lately I haven't been doing good on that I have one from a couple weeks ago that I will send! ha-ha Don't worry mom the ice was thick and my whole district was out on the ice! I forgot to tell you so on Monday and Friday Elder Blue who is in my district taught me how to play Texas Holdem we played on Friday as are district leader was doing interviews with our whole district  after district meeting its fun! Maybe I can go to the league poker night when I get home ha-ha! I'm glad to see you guys are doing great hope you all continue to be safe! Love you!

The teachings of Jesus Christ...

The teachings of Jesus Christ have more power to bring lasting happiness than all the success and pleasure the world can offer. Every message Mormon missionaries share revolves around Him and how His Atonement and ordinances allow us to return to live with our Father in Heaven and our families in heaven. ~ mormon.org

Hi! I'm doing good.  How are you guys? It was an okay week we were able to teach Kendra the first lesson. She was taught before by missionaries a long time ago (about 6 months or so) so we are teaching her again and we are teaching her the second lesson tonight at our old Bishops house! The investigators I'm not sure about as they have been kind of avoiding us except Kendra! Yes, my companion and I are still getting along! Ha!

Yes, I was able to watch the Superbowl too. :)  We watched it with the members we lived with but we had to leave during second quarter as we had an appointment with a family in the ward who wanted to listen to the first lesson and then we got back in time to see some of  Katy Perry's performance! I saw the preview to the new Fast and Furious movie. It looks so good! I also liked the Liam Neeson commercial I was dying when I saw that it was hilarious! I was going for the Seahawks because Patriots cheated in 2004 which was the year the Eagles would've made it to the Superbowl! The coach on the Seahawks made a bad play call and should have ran it! Haha oh well it was a great game though. Our members were playing this song called Uptown Funk I don't know if you have ever heard of it but it is a great song its Bruno Mars singing the song.  You guys should listen to it and this morning one of our members showed us a lip synching battle with Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Jimmy Fallon it was so funny Will Ferrell Lip sync's the song, "Let it go it".  So funny!

So at the Rec center lately I have been running a lot.  This morning I ran 7 miles and have been losing weight as right now I weigh 158 and at the beginning of the transfer I was 165 so it's crazy that I'm under 160!  I haven't weighed this much since senior year in high school haha!

I pray for you guys all the time. Well love you guys and hope all is well!

Only He can see...

I like this quote it's so true! He really does have a plan for us!

I don't think I would want to throw it back either! So Hunter, the 14 year old girl, isn't getting baptized soon.  We had dinner at her house and we brought it up and she said that she was working stuff out with the Bishop so it sounds like she has to wait.  It was cool though we had dinner with her family and they had a non member there. He is interested to learn more so we taught him the 1st lesson but his mom is Southern Baptist and won't let him go to our Church and he lives in down town Longmont so he is out of our ward boundaries but it was still neat though! Tonight we are meeting with this girl named Kendra and she apparently was taught by missionaries before but it's been awhile and apparently she was going to be baptized but it sounded like she flaked but that was a long time ago. So anyways we are teaching her all over again and see what happens from there.

I love you guys too and you guys are always in my prayers as well!

Five Months...

This is a pic at Estes park it's so pretty & it's one of the most picked places that people get married at!

Hi! It's still pretty slow. We have 2 new investigators (well kind of) they were taught the lessons before but it's been about 6 months since they have been taught. One of them we met yesterday and  our ward mission leader asked us if we wanted to meet a nonmember and we said sure.  So we ended up leaving Church with our ward mission leader because the nonmembers car broke down and needed a ride to work and she was friends with our ward mission leaders son so we picked her up and asked if she would like to take the lessons again and she said yes so we will be teaching her sometime! The other investigator was also taught the lessons and was suppose to get baptized but something happened and we called her and asked if we could meet with her at the old bishops house because she is friends with his daughters so we will see how it goes. Kendra, the one who is friends with the old bishops daughters, we will be teaching her on the 26th and we already scheduled that but other than that we haven't had much luck.  We have an appointment with a less active on Friday and he is from England and has the accent it was cool to hear it! Lol

I want to see American Sniper so bad it looks really good and they play the preview a lot at the Rec center! That is awesome that Nathan got to go to a banquet! That is awesome that Ammon got to get his pic with the ASU coach! I heard the Suns are doing good this year! It's been pretty warm lately as it's been like 55 and 65 degrees for the last 3 days.  It is so nice I hated the 20 degree weather everyday! Lol

Tomorrow will be my 5 month mark and at 6 months it's a tradition for missionaries to burn a tie and then at your year mark you are suppose to burn a shirt! It's crazy that I have already been out for 5 months it goes by pretty quick!

Love you and hope you guys are doing great!

Mission Conference with Elder Bednar…

That is an awesome quote! I really like it!

It’s going okay up here it’s been in the teens and 20s so yeah pretty cold! I love the rain right now it’s just cloudy and it’s supposed to snow today and tomorrow! The rec center is awesome we work out every day but Sunday! We do service for the rec center as we are doing inventory for them in the shed. Every Wednesday we go across the street from the rec center and go to the senior lunch and wait for them to finish and clean tables and mop the floor then after that we play games with them!

Friday was awesome! We had a mission conference and Elder Bednar spoke to us and that was so cool! He didn't have a message prepared for us but instead it was like a question and answering thing between us and him and it was about what did you learn from his previous talks one was called ask in faith, seek learning by faith, and converted unto the Lord and he would ask what we learned from this so it was like a discussion and it was cool! He also told us when we say are prayers don't pray for objects like don't say "thankful that we all made it to Church today and please bless those who didn't make it that they will come to Church next week" he said don't say that because it’s like your relying on someone else to get them to Church and that we need to act upon it! So that was awesome being able to hear him speak to us. He is very funny!

So yesterday we visited this guy who has not been to Church for over 30 years and he asked us a question that really got my companion thinking saying why is that we eat ham on Easter and Christmas when we are focusing on the birth of Christ and his death because Christ was a Jew? Jews I guess don't eat meat so my companion and I didn't know how to answer that question really tough question to answer!

Hope you guys are doing great! Love you!
